CHAIN SAW SAFETY NOTICE

Below are some safety recommendations for chain saw use
• Never handle the cutting chain whilst the machine is turned on.
• Use gloves when handling the saw chain as it can be very sharp.
• Avoid cutting above shoulder height.
• Wear the correct safety clothing, this includes forestry helmet, eye protection, gloves, chain saw trousers or chaps and safety footwear.
• Clothing should allow free movement, but also be snug, avoid any loose hanging items such as scarfs or necklaces that could be caught in the chain.
• Getting a good footing while operating the saw is very important. Wear sturdy boots with nonslip soles. Steel-toed safety boots are recommended. Never wear sandals, flip-flops or go barefoot.
The above recommendations are guidelines only and we cannot be held responsible for your safety when operating these machines.

What Our Delivery Terms Mean
Usually Delivered In.....
This means stock is delivered to us which we then forward on to our customer OR stock is delivered directly from our supplier / manufacturer to our customer. This is dependent on size & weight of items. Delivery will be within days shown. Please note we regularly update our website but cannot always guarantee our suppliers have products in stock. If there is an issue with stock we will notify you as soon as we can via telephone / email.
In Stock - Ready For Dispatch**
This means we physically have the stock in our warehouse. Typically dispatched same working day if order placed before before 2:30pm. **Usually delivered in 1-2 working days (weight restrictions may apply). If you require next working day delivery please select option at checkout (if available).
Pre-Order
Some of our products can be bought on a Pre-Order basis, this will be shown on individual product pages if available. Pre-Order products are normally 'soon to be released' items or stock which is awaiting delivery from the manufacturers. Delivery times are provided by manufactures & will be shown on individual product pages, these are for guidance only & can change without prior notice.

Some orders may have additional carriage applied if they are of a certain postcode (e.g. in Scottish Highlands etc.). Next working day delivery is available for a selection of products and is priced from £9.95. If available there will be an option to select during the checkout process. The cost of next day varies based on weight and size of the order, heavier items can be considerably more than £9.95, the amount will be shown in the checkout process before completing. This service includes working days only, any orders placed over the weekend are not processed until Monday, so the delivery time will go from then. Our cut-off time for orders placed on next working day delivery is generally 2.30pm, although this can be extended on some items, please call us to check.
UK Saturday Delivery
It is possible to get a Saturday delivery on some products, however the price and availability of this service is completely dependent on the brand of items on the order & the overall weight of the order - for a Saturday delivery please contact us.
Most of our parcels are dispatched via DPD. On the day of dispatch you will receive a text / email with the approximate time your parcel will be delivered (normally an hours delivery window is given). Please note however, it is your responsibility to ensure you are available when the courier attempts delivery as not all courier firms have the facility to call ahead. If the time given is unsuitable it is highly recommended that you rearrange delivery of your parcel by replying directly to DPD via the text / email or you can request your parcel is left in a safe place or with a neighbour. We also use other pallet / courier services where sometimes tracking information is not available.

Deliveries into Europe & Overseas
Placing online orders for delivery into the EU, including ROI has currently been suspended.
Due to the current backlog at UK ports, and the closure of some ports and borders into Europe, we have taken the difficult decision to make this unavailable for a period of time.
We would not like to offer customers a service that we are not able to rely on.
We will look to make this available again as soon as possible, however, there are new requirements that will be in place for products leaving the UK into Europe after Brexit on 1st January 2021. Once the delivery situation is more stable, we will implement the required data in order to provide a reliable delivery service into Europe.

Anti-Vibration System
Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. Stihl has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine's engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.
Catalytic Converter
Considerably reduces the quantity of harmful particles in the exhaust gas.
Compensator
This controller in the carburettor prevents the fuel-air mixture getting richer as the air filter becomes clogged. The correct quantity of fuel is delivered to the carburettor depending on the quantity of air passing through the air filter. This keeps the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture constant and hence also the engine power. The filter doesn't need to be cleaned until an appreciable drop in power occurs.
Ematic Chain Lubrication System
The Ematic chain lubrication system ensures pinpoint lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar rails. When used with STIHL OILOMATIC saw chain, it will provide maximum lubrication, longer wear and less oil consumption than conventional methods of chain lubrication. The Ematic system can reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50%.

All important functions such as start, choke, throttle and stop are operated via a single lever.
